How it's built
Every creator page, product page, and discover category is a public, indexable, keyword-shaped URL. The catalog is the content. Gumroad didn’t write “best {niche} templates” — its creators did, and the platform harvests the long tail automatically.
How it gets found
Discover pages target category intent, product pages target brand-plus-product intent, and the whole thing is cross-linked. Authority from a few viral products flows to the category pages that rank. Concrete, priced, reviewed product entities are easy for answer engines to lift into “where can I buy X” answers.
Where it leaks
- Category thinness: some discover pages are sparse and interchangeable — ripe for a real editorial layer.
- Trust signals: reviews and structured data are inconsistent, so AI citations skew to the few well-marked-up pages.
